Amelia Mikron has been helping out at her parents' inn for years. She is engaged to Garen, a young man of good standing, but still, Amelia feels that something is missing in her life. One day, when she discovers that she is a witch, she faces a dilemma. Should she deny who she is so that King Lembo never notices her? Or should she use this gift to bring an end to the king’s tyranny? Heron Liwel is a soldier in training. There is nothing he enjoys more than teasing the local barmaid and living his life. But that’s only what meets the eye. In secret, however, Heron is the leader of a hidden group of rebels, who, with their dragons, are trying to make a difference.
