Cycle Breaker

Everyone has setbacks in life, but only few have childhoods as nightmarish as Gurjot Kaur's. Growing up in two different cultures, she faced mental and sexual abuse, cultural taboos, an unsafe home environment, and a family that abandoned her and eventually cast her out. This book is about her life thus far and the harmful generational patterns she has experienced—and broken. Gurjot now has the freedom to live life her way. Despite the trauma she has endured, she is strong and headed straight for her goal. Misery has ultimately empowered her and provided her with additional motivation to continue living her life. Her willpower to keep going has grown tremendously. Behind the world we see, there is another world; one that is not talked about. This story is a voice from that world—from behind closed doors and from two different cultures—and speaks for those who have not had the opportunity to speak for themselves. Kaur was born in Amsterdam and currently works as a nurse in elderly care. Her story is a voice from a world not often talked about as, in some cultures, the events she experienced are hushed up.
