Samenvatting
A roguish, loveable, forty-something London antique dealer, starts on a risky journey through Belgium and France. His partner in crime is the Bohemian Nikki Carter.
Our Harry has the incredible talent of getting into trouble at the drop of a hat. On the other hand, Nikki can bring him back down to earth with a bump. The "trouble" in this case is an assignment of stolen tableware, including a Chinese tea bowl. Their road trip takes them from Bruges in Belgium to the banks of the Loire River in central France.
Quickly finding himself out of his depth, Harry Butterworth teams up with the London-based Detective Chief Inspector, Alfie Humble. As a member of the Metropolitan Police’s Art and Antiques Unit, Alfie tries to guide his unwilling pupil into solving a mystery. A mystery that’s been bugging him for a long time.
Alfie’s sleepless nights are down to a group of talented art thieves that have been on the scene for thirty years or more. Yet, these four villains, with an average age of seventy, manage to operate a lucrative business.
This comedy-drama, richly peppered with colourful characters, will not disappoint the reader.
