Sea-ing the Land

Somewhere at Rainbow Bay, Blue waves are ridden every day. And dreams of freedom, They really do come true. Sea-ing the Land is an exploration of the interplay between the Land and the Sea in Rainbow Bay (Australia) through the lens of surfing. The book is based on ethnographic research and therefore combines photography, research data and anthropological analysis. It thereby examines the field between art and anthropology. The book tells the story of wave surfers in Australia and show how living by the rhythm of the ocean influences the daily life of this surfing community. A personal story by the author combined with interview fragments of the research illustrates the different layers of a life between the land and the ocean.
