Peter Alons graduated cum laude in Physics and Mathematics at the ‘Vrije Universiteit’ in Amsterdam. After his PhD in 1980 he moved to the USA and became Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado and the Indiana University Cyclotron Facility in Bloomington, Indiana. From this period several articles on nuclear physics from his hands can be found on the internet. In 1990 he started to work for BSO (nowadays ATOS). He was involved in many Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse projects as specialist in information modeling and Data Warehouse design. Two of his projects were awarded: the Data Warehouse project for ICU's at the Erasmus MC won the Computable Award 2007 for the best IT-project in Health Care, and in 2008 the Dutch Railways won the Franz Edelman prize in the USA with the ‘DONS’-system. Nowadays he gives presentations and courses on Fact Oriented Modeling and Information Management, and has many publications to his name.
